The Australian Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government is the Hon Simon Crean MP. The portfolio is part of the Prime Minister and Cabinet portfolio.[1] Simon Crean is the first minister with this title. However, several ministers have had responsibility for regional and/or local government policy since Tom Uren was appointed Minister for Urban and Regional Development on 19 December 1972.
